Even the carpentry shop from which RELAX emerged had a deep connection to wood as a natural material for crafting and building. With the launch of the first RELAX bed system in 1990, that connection turned into a true passion: a passion for wood—a passion for a high-quality product, pure and simple. The innovative company produces high-quality natural wood beds and has achieved great success with the RELAX natural bed systems.
INNOVATIVE BED SYSTEMS WITH A NATURAL TOUCH
Healthy sleep is becoming increasingly important in our cutthroat society,” says company founder KommR Herbert Sigl, speaking from years of experience. The realization that natural and largely untreated materials provide the best foundation for restful and healthy sleep was decisive in the creation of the RELAX natural bed system: “high-quality in harmony with current ergonomic and orthopedic knowledge make every RELAX natural bed system an oasis for natural, restful sleep.
INVESTING IN THE FUTURE
Over the past two decades, the former carpentry workshop has evolved into a modern, innovative, and high-performing company: RELAX products enjoy an excellent reputation throughout Europe. The company operates on 8,000 square meters in the heart of a pristine landscape—the Salzburg Lake District, just under 20 kilometers from the city of Mozart, Salzburg: In addition to the headquarters in Obertrum am See, a mattress sewing facility was built in Schalchen near Mattighofen. “Anyone who grows up in this landscape and is able to bring their ideas to life as a carpenter can hardly avoid the subject of wood,” says Herbert Sigl, expressing his connection to nature.
A growing Team in a Family Business
40 employees work at the Obertrum am See location; ten highly trained consultants support retail partners in Austria, Germany, Italy, and Switzerland: RELAX is actively expanding in the European market and is well-positioned for further growth. And yet: RELAX Natürlich Wohnen GmbH is a healthy, growing company where, alongside company founder KommR Herbert Sigl and his wife Katharina, son Herbert in management and daughter Heidi in customer service also help set the course for the future.
